So while I didn’t know a whole lot about BCAAs (branch chain amino acids) I know several of my friends in my various running groups swear by them, so I was excited to seize this opportunity as a Bibrave Pro to try them out.
So what exactly are BCAAs? Well according to Now Foods:
“Branched Chain Amino Acids are essential amino acids that serve as the building blocks of protein, which helps to fuel your muscles during workout and can also help support muscle recovery post-workout. They’re called essential because the body doesn’t make them on its own, so you need to supplement or get from them from your diet.”
So, I used them by adding one scoop of either my grape or watermelon flavored powder into a shaker bottle of water. I tried to drink it at least twice per day. I have heard from others that there is a key to the timing of ingesting BCAAs, but I don’t know much about that, so I just drank it when I was able.
So Now Foods is proud of this product because “it’s a clean, highly-tested brand. They conduct more than 16,000 tests each month for identity, purity, strength and composition to ensure that what’s on the label is in the bottle. And, now they’re third-party certified via Informed-Sport for added product purity assurance. The Informed-Sport program certifies that their products have been tested for more than 200 banned substances by their world-class sports anti-doping lab.”
I enjoyed the taste of both flavors, but found the watermelon to be extra sweet, and preferred the grape flavor (which is unusual because I don’t ever drink grape anything!)
I’ll definitely continue to use the product to support all of my running and group fitness activities!
